              NTMT Cast Iron Surface Plate and tables are serve as a precision reference base for inspection, tool marking, gauging, spotting, marking and layout operations. Stand enable for proper leveling of plate and help provide the top surface at a convenient working height.

1.    MATERIAL: Cast Iron surface plates are made from close grind plain cast iron conforming to IS: 21092-1978. Castings are thermally stress relieved and carefully ribbed to reduce distortion, working height approximately 850 to 900 mm from the floor.   

2.  TECHNICAL DATA: Cast Iron surface plates are manufactured in 3 grades of accuracy.

                        Grade 1 (Inspection Grade)

                        Grade 2 (Tools Room Grade)

                        Grade 3 (shop Floor Grade)

     It has very lowest thermal co-efficient of expansion

3. ACCURACY: Cast Iron surface plates are machined and finally hand scraped with highly experienced  technicians to ensure surface finish and accuracy, Bearing area not less than 20% for Grade 0, 15% for Grade 1 and 10% for Grade 2 & 3 as per IS : 2285-2003.  

Made generally as per IS: 2285-2003, made from Good quality close grained with high Density   Alloyed Cast Iron Castings Conforming to Grade FG-220 of IS: 210. Thermally stress relieved and

Hand Scraped Surface. Provided with lifting handle and Rexene cover.

• NTMT Cast Iron Surface Plates are the results of years experience as a manufacturer both in foundry technology and metrology. These plates are of close - granite cast iron. The composition of the metal, the depth and cross-section of the ribs and the thickness of the plate are designed to conform to the deflection limits specified in IS-2285-2003. NTMT surface plates are manufactured to three grades namely Grade-I, Grade-II, Grade-III, as per standard stated above.
• An average of 15-20% load bearing after finish scraping is Standard. Fabricated heavy angle iron stands, with required leveling screws, are offered for all plates to provide convenient working height. Cast Iron column floor stands each with a leveling screw and nut are also offered as an option as: A set of 3 for leveling and 2 for support for sizes up to 2000 x 1000mm plate and set of 5 for leveling and two for support, for sizes above 2000 x 1000mm. Maximum deviation flatness over the entire area expressed in microns as per IS 2285-2003.
• Cast Iron Surface Plates are machined and finally hand scraped with highly experienced technicians to ensure surface finish and accuracy, Bearing area not less than 15 % for Grade 1 and 10% for Grade 2 & 3 as per-: 2285-2003.
• Grade-I & Grade-Il plates are artificially seasoned. They are hand scraped to achieve maximum local deviation from flatness as per standard at any point on the working surface. Grade -II plates are accurately machined to get the requisite flatness.
